Omak, Washington office worker Angie Bussler had extreme, debilitating back pain.
Angie, who is 51 years old, always has had back pain since she was in her 30’s. Angie’s work, manual labor such as packing apples while standing on hard concrete floors for hours at a time or lifting and loading animals onto trucks, contributed greatly to her condition. Her pain was so serious that she was virtually bedridden. Angie remembers, “I couldn’t put my pants on. I couldn’t get in the bathtub by myself. I needed help getting out of the bathtub. I couldn’t bend over anymore. I couldn’t sleep. I couldn’t sit.”
Angie’s pain, which could only be relieved by sitting in her recliner, took a great toll on day-to-day life. “Just sitting down took everything I had,” Angie recalls.
Each doctor Angie sought treatment from used only injectable painkillers to address her pain. All the doctors Angie talked to offered her only short term remedies in the form of shots to ease her pain. These did nothing to address the underlying cause of her pain.
Angie sought out better help, wanting to get her life back. This was when she found Doctor Solomon Kamson and the Spine Institute Northwest during a search online. Doctor Kamson showed Angie her MRI and explained what exactly was wrong with her, what options were available to her, and how her situation could be treated.
“I was down to bone-on-bone by the time I got to Dr. Kamson,” Angie recalls. “I had shooting pain like needles and knives in my back.” Doctor Kamson said, “We can repair that.” “Oh my God “This is my doctor!”, Angie thought after hearing the doctor’s assessment of her condition.
“Dr. Kamson is all about his patients,” Angie comments, impressed by his bedside manner. “He does the MRI’s, he does the x-rays, he wants to check on patients.”
“I don’t see any other doctor who call on their patients wanting to know how they are feeling.”
Before the surgery, Angie says, “My pain level was off the chart. Now I am down to a 1 and a 2.”
Angie tells everyone to go check Doctor Kamson out and get his second opinion about their own pain. “Don’t just take your doctor’s advice if you feel that it is not helping you any.” “Got out and get a second opinion.”
Angie’s advice to those in pain and in need of treatment: “Go see Dr. Kamson. He will get it done.”
