Just in her early 20s, Jaselyn Lee was living with the kind of chronic pain that you’d more commonly see in someone twice or three times her age. “I couldn’t even sit,” she remembers, due to pain and numbness that would literally take her breath away. Jaselyn remembers, “needing to just kind of walk, but then walking also hurt too, so it was just pain all day.”
A preschool teacher, Jaselyn found herself “on the sidelines” watching her young charges, and not being able to truly engage with them. A friend of hers who works at the Spine Institute Northwest suggested Jaselyn come in to see if Dr. Kamson could help, and that made a world of difference. “He’s really friendly [and] made me feel at ease,” Jaselyn says.
A year after her lumbar discectomy, Jaselyn — who’s now 23 — is finally back to living a rich, pain-free life. After the minimally invasive surgery, “I was out and about in like a month,” Jaselyn says, and back to work not long afterward. Today, “I can pick up my students, I can go and do sports that I haven’t been able to do. Even just walks with my dogs.”
Jaselyn’s back to doing what she loves — and you should be, too. If you’ve been living with chronic pain, contact the Spine Institute Northwest today to learn more about how we can help you get back your life.
