“I Got My Life Back,” says Patient Rebecca Sipes

Rebecca Sipes is a 52-year-old mother of four and grandmother of five who had been struggling with terrible pain for decades before being treated at Spine Institute Northwest. Before her procedure, she could not sit at all and needed to shift a lot just to ease her discomfort.

Back and Arms Problems After Car Accidents

Rebecca was no stranger to living with pain, having a series of car accidents when she was younger. She has had many surgeries to try to fix her pain. The first one was for neck surgery in 1986 and a second one in 1987. Several more car accidents made her condition much worse.

After her accidents, Rebecca had to live with migraine headaches, spasms and loss of feeling in her arms. She had cramps and heavy legs.

What really changed as her health got worse and worse was her disposition, as Rebecca recalls that “she had no desire to smile because it hurt so bad.”

“You get all snappy and you don’t realize it. You are miserable so everybody around you is going to be miserable.”

For years Rebecca lived in pain being told by multiple doctors that nothing could be done for condition at all and that she had to live with it. Painkillers and muscle relaxants were all a part of her daily routine.

“I would never have known that I was in as much pain before I had the procedure and never thought that I would be pain free again.”

Finally she found hope after meeting Doctor Kamson at the Spine Institute. “He’s my hero”, she proclaims. Dr. Kamson treated her back condition and today Rebecca is up and about without the need for any pain medication or muscle relaxants.

Hope After Minimally Invasive Procedure

“I function as a normal woman and I have no limits!” Rebecca exclaims with a laugh.

Rebecca especially appreciated how methodical Dr. Kamson was in approaching her problem by using x-rays and MRI’s to carefully assess her situation. Rebecca ended up undergoing minimally invasive surgery for her lumbar and cervical areas. A synthetic disc in lower back fixed her leg pain and another in her neck fixed her upper back pain.

“I feel like a whole new woman. “

“I would never have known that I was in as much pain before I had the procedure and never thought that I would be pain free again.”

Rebecca’s message to other sufferers like her: Don’t give up, come talk to Dr. Kamson and his team let them see what they can do for you.

“He’s my hero he gave me my life back.”
